Edward Charles Boadway

Edward C. Boadway, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward K. Boadway; son-in-law, Steven Lee Carmack; and three siblings. He is survived by his wife, Bernice, of Mount Ida, AR; one son, David, and his wife, Sherry, of Rison, AR; three daughters.. Shari Carmack of Oden, AR, Tamela Boadway of Arkadelphia, AR, and Serena Boadway of Mount Ida, AR; two brothers. Freddie from NY and Gay from AZ; two sisters, Royaldo Parany and Myrtle Toth from NJ.

Eddie was born on January 24, 1936, in Malone, NY, to Royal and Mary Louise (Condon) Boadway. He married Bernice (Cox) on December 9, 1962.

Eddie worked for years in the construction industry on projects from the St. Lawrence Seaway in New York to the Hot Springs Mall in Hot Springs, AR, and the county roads of Montgomery County, AR. He also spent time working in the copper mines of Arizona before answering the call to the ministry in 1976. He pastored churches in Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma before retiring in 2013. In 2014, he became the assistant pastor of Prairie Grove Church of God in Fannie, AR.

Eddie was a fun-loving man who dedicated his life to serving God and taking care of his family. He was always there for anyone who needed him and loved to make people smile.

Visitation services will be held at Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida.
